Dhaka University (DU) has decided to make major changes including increasing the number of written examinations in the first year examination of the 2020-21 session, reducing the marks of MCQO Higher Secondary, and setting up departmental examination centers.
These decisions were taken at a special meeting of the admission test held with the deans of the faculties of the university on Tuesday (October 20) morning.
It was chaired by the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akhtaruzzaman. According to the meeting, every time the admission test of Dhaka University is 200, this time it will be 100. Although there are 60 marks on the result from secondary and higher secondary, it has been reduced to 20 marks. And the MCQ number has been increased from 65 to 30. Besides, the written test number will be 50.
In all, the merit order of the students will be made above 100 marks.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. ASM Maqsood Kamal said that due to Corona, the decision has been taken to make the examination center divisional. In that case, I will talk to the universities of the department and take the test through the venue and the concerned teachers.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and former Chief Information Commissioner Prof. Sadeka Halim said the deans have agreed that there is no alternative to the admission test, considering all aspects, including the corona epidemic. The examination will be held in accordance with the hygiene rules. We will focus more on the written test.
